SEREMBAN June 2 - Only 10% of car passengers wear rear seat belts since the regulations were introduced two years ago, said General Director of the Road Safety Department (JKJR), Datuk Suret Singh.
He said that this shows the public is not aware that without wearing the rear seat belt, their chances for serious injury or death of any one accident rose to 50%.
At the same time, he expressed regret that nearly half a million owners of National cars such as Proton and Perodua are no belts in their back of their car. - bernama
